my favorite part about making a cake is it’s impermanence. I minored in art and used to know a ceramics professor who once a year would make a great masterpiece, not fire it and leave it in the rain to dissolve.

I have officially failed as a wife and mother, because I have never made a cake like this. Wow.
So … Did it taste as good as it looked? Or, is it a show-cake that no one could bear slicing into?
